BIO:
Laura Mack (she, her) is an artist living in Salem, Oregon. Her practice includes visual art, writing, and teaching. Mack’s art has been exhibited throughout the United States and in private collections. She holds a BFA (School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, 1995) and an MFA (University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, 2004). Mack’s curatorial work includes Through the Eyes of Strangers: Artists Visit South Africa, Drawing Deeper, and The Presence of Absence. A former TEDx Speaker with Art Education Matters, so What’s the Problem?, Mack also presents papers at Foundations of Art Theory and Education (FATE) conferences such as “Building Critiques to Build Confidence and Community,” “Drawing as Experiment,” and “Collaborate or Die: Co-Teaching The Creativity Class.” She is co-author of Art for Everyone (Oxford University Press, 2021). Laura Mack currently teaches Drawing, Painting, Understanding Art and Creativity at Chemeketa Community College in Oregon.
