BIO:
Dana Dirker is an multidisciplinary artist working in drawing, painting and found objects. Her work explores the interrelatedness of healing in ourselves, society and in the natural world. The paintings in this series focus on the sky as a transitional and cyclical space of connection and hope, both within and beyond us. An early childhood educator and arts integration consultant, Dana draws inspiration from the resilience, creativity and openness of children, and their ability to both arrive at and move beyond their circumstances. She currently offers intergenerational art classes at the Children’s Inn of the National Institutes of Health and promotes art experiences in her community. Dana earned her BA in Fine Art from Binghamton University and her MA in Art and Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. She began studying with the teacher artist duo, Rosenclaire, in 1995, and continues to participate in their international artist courses and residencies.
